Basic Life Support Course (BLS - Formerly HCP)
Enroll in the Basic Life Support (BLS) course to gain the confidence and skills needed to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as a team of 3. This course is designed for professionals with a duty to respond during emergencies.
The course will take you through essential steps such as performing a rapid assessment, basic life support (BLS) skills, and rapid defibrillation, including using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). By completing this training, you will be equipped with the essential knowledge and skills to respond quickly and effectively during emergency situations.
Course Content
- Glove removal
- Primary assessment

- Airway obstruction
- Assisted ventilation
- Basic Life Support special considerations
- High performance CPR

Basic Life Support
- Duration: 4 hours
- Stand-alone BLS course
BLS with Airway Management
- Duration: 5 hours
- Includes airway management training
BLS with Oxygen Therapy
- Duration: 5 hours
- Includes oxygen therapy training
BLS with Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy
- Duration: 6 hours
- Includes airway and oxygen training
Completion Requirements
- Successfully demonstrate all course skill competencies
- Minimum 75% mark for written, closed book knowledge evaluation
- Attend and participate in 100% of the course
Already certified? If your Basic Life Support certification is nearing expiration, we also offer a BLS Recertification course. This shorter course allows currently certified providers to renew their certification and refresh essential life-saving skills.
