Hand Sanitizer is back in stock on the Pacific First Aid shop! Here are 3 facts about hand sanitizer:

"If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Why? Many studies have found that sanitizers with an alcohol concentration between 60–95% are more effective at killing germs than those with a lower alcohol concentration or non-alcohol-based hand sanitizers 16,20. Hand sanitizers without 60-95% alcohol" - CDC

1. To get the best results from hand sanitizer, the user needs to make sure to rub it thoroughly into the skin. It is not enough to spray a bit and rub your hands around once or twice. When applying hand sanitizer it is important to well lather int into the skin and then to wait a few seconds for it dry.

2. Hand sanitizer is still second! Hand sanitizer although very effective, nothing beats the classic soap and water. This is mostly because hand sanitizer does no work as well on hands that are greasy and dirty, as it is difficult to remove all this debris without soap and water.

3. It is not just the sanitizer doing the work! Although it may seem that spraying hand sanitizer is enough to kill germs. But it actually takes the friction from rubbing your hands together to cause the evaporation of the sanitizer taking the germs with it.
