 Our CPR courses equip participants with the essential skills to identify and respond effectively to cardiovascular emergencies and choking incidents involving adults, children, and infants, depending on the chosen CPR level.

These courses are designed to align with provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance board regulations, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

Moreover, our courses incorporate the most up-to-date CPR guidelines and provide comprehensive training in the operation of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

 

Course Duration:

  • CPR A: 4 hours of in-class instruction OR 2 hours of in-class training combined with 3 hours of online learning*
  • CPR C: 5 hours of in-class instruction OR 3 hours of in-class training combined with 3 hours of online learning*

 

Instructor Qualifications:

Instructors for these courses are certified CPR Instructors or First Aid Instructors.

 

Prerequisites:

No prerequisites are required to enroll in these courses.

 

Course Completion:

To successfully complete the course, participants must:

  • Proficiently demonstrate the necessary skills and critical procedures.
  • Achieve a minimum score of 75% on the written knowledge evaluation.
  • Attend and actively participate in 100% of the course.

 

Certification:

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a CPR Level A or C certification valid for 3 years, accompanied by a digital certificate.

 

Recertification:

Recertification for CPR A is not available. For CPR C, recertification requires 3.5 hours of in-class instruction or 2 hours of online learning combined with 2.5 hours of in-class training for the Blended CPR option.

*Note: The duration of online learning may vary based on individual learner progress.

 

Participant Materials:

Participants will receive the following materials as part of the course:

  • CPR manual (available in print and/or eBook formats)
  • Comprehensive Guide to First Aid & CPR (eBook)
  • CPR materials available online (Blended CPR option)
  • Digital CPR certificate issued upon successful completion

 

Course Content for CPR A

  • Overview of The Red Cross
  • Effective response to emergencies
  • Check, Call, Care protocol
  • Proper positioning for recovery
  • Techniques for assisting choking adults
  • Medication assistance procedures
  • Recognizing angina and heart attack symptoms
  • Understanding stroke and its response
  • CPR and AED use for adults
  • Managing situations involving deadly bleeding
 

Course Content for CPR C

  • Techniques for assisting choking in children and infants
  • CPR and AED use for children and infants
  • Any additional content required by specific legislation 

 

CPR C & AED is also offered in a Blended Learning course format. Blended Learning courses are composed of an online component that runs for about half of the regular course duration.

The online component covers first aid theory topics and can be completed in segments or all at once but must be completed prior to attending the in-person component. The in-person course component will cover all necessary practical first aid training topics.

Blended Learning courses are convenient for students with busy schedules or those that prefer less in-person classroom time.
